I’m headed to Texas Christian University to give a lecture, and I was determined to get my long run in before traveling. So, I ran 13.5 miles this morning to stay on track for the Columbus Half Marathon on Sunday, October 18, 2015. As I confessed, the Air Force Half kicked my behind a couple weeks ago, and I’m determined to have a better performance on the 18th. WOW! That’s soon!
I’m dedicating this race to Girls on the Run, an amazing organization that helps girls in grades 3 through 8 to develop confidence and coping skills. Please visit my fundraising page, consider donating, and SPREAD THE WORD to anyone who might want to support girls during those rough elementary and middle school years. [Here’s a link to share easily via email, facebook, twitter, whatever: http://bit.ly/1KzVtIr]
Please help me support girls and their families!

I will be in Atlanta, else I would be walking/jogging the Columbus half. But I am definitely going to support your cause by the middle of the month. I hope you’ll post it again on FB and remind us, or remind me directly. Very proud of you. You continue to inspire me.

SO APPRECIATED!! We must all do our part. I appreciate that you can see that’s what I’m trying to do. And the admiration is certainly mutual!
